Our client is seeking an Expert IT Infrastructure Engineer to lead the development and management of a highly secure automation landscape.

This role is a technical cornerstone within the Group IT Hub South Africa focusing on scaling Ansible Automation Platforms and managing hybrid cloud workloads across AWS and Azure.

• Experience Required: Strong experience in Ansible Core Linux (RHEL) and Cloud Technologies.

The Mission: You will be the architect of stability and automation developing Ansible playbooks in a highly regulated environment. Your goal is to migrate automation workloads to the Ansible Automation Platform manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Terraform and ensure the lifecycle management of global cloud and Unix/Linux systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience
• Strong Experience with Ansible Core and Ansible Automation Platform (or Ansible Tower/AWX)
• Strong experience with coding and scripting (Bash PowerShell etc)
• Strong experience with Linux (RHEL Ubuntu SLES)
• Strong experience with Cloud Technologies (AWS Azure)
• Strong knowledge with version control systems (GitHub)
• Strong experience with IaC technologies (Terraform)
• Experience with GitOps
• Experience with ServiceNow (Advantageous)
• Experience with Dynatrace (Advantageous)
• Experience with SIEM technologies such as Splunk (Advantageous)
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite (Advantageous)
• Any Linux certification such as RHCSA
• Ansible certification - RHCE (ex294/ex407) (advantageous

Essential Skills (Verified):

• Automation: Deep knowledge of Ansible Core Ansible Automation Platform (Tower/AWX) and Terraform (IaC).
• Cloud: Professional deployment and management of AWS and Azure workloads.
• Operating Systems: Mastery of Unix and Linux (RHEL Ubuntu SLES).
• Development Tools: Expert use of GitHub/Bitbucket (branching strategies) Jira and Confluence.
• Scripting: Advanced Bash Python and Perl scripting.
• Protocols & Storage: Deep knowledge of NFS CIFS SSH DNS NTP and mounting technologies (Autofs/DFS).

• Knowledge of Virtualisation technologies such as VMWare
• Knowledge of Private Cloud solutions
• Knowledge of Windows Server

• Knowledge of Directory Access Manager (DIVA)
• Knowledge of Intelligent Storage Orchestration Environment (iStore) and Active Directory Gruppentool (ADGR)
• Basic knowledge of ITIL and ITSM such as Problem-Incident-Change processes
• Basic knowledge of ITSM Suite
• Basic knowledge of Scrum
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP and OIDC
• Basic knowledge of ServiceNow Tool and Processes

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles in a highly secure and regulated environment
• Create manage and operate Ansible Automation Platform objects such as templates credentials workflows
• Consult users to assist with migrating automation workloads to Ansible Automation Platform
• Deploy manage and operate workloads on AWS and Azure as well as implement security controls and compliance requirements
• Create manage and operate IaC withTerraform
• Perform operating system and Ansible Automation Platform lifecycle management
• Interact with Enterprise GitHub for version control and Git branching strategy
• Track and update Jira user stories to ensure due dates are met
• Forecast and plan for resources infrastructure and licenses for the team in coordination with the Product
• Owner and Line manager in charge.
• Assist to ensure stability of systems and adherence of the team to BMW Groups Operations standards.
• Ensure quality and up to date content of the knowledge base for the sub-product
• Ensure quality and up to date content of the Sub-Product and compliancy required documentation
• Able to understand complex application architecture/dependencies (CA related)
• Perform housekeeping/monitoring/managing of the Ansible Automation Platform focusing on stability/
• performance as well as cost optimization.
• Manage Problem Incident and Change process for dedicated ITSM service
• Willing to do standby and work on weekends if needed
• Keep documentation up to date in all relevant systems (e. g. as is configuration CMDB/Application Instance
• Wizard to be configuration Connect IT knowledge database resolveIT)
• Attend and moderate operation meetings
• Coordinate external contractors
• Manage security vulnerabilities
