Lead Senior Network Engineer

Summary of Role

The Lead Senior Network Engineer is responsible for endtoend delivery of complex network projects across SDWAN Wireless and General Network platforms. This role provides technical leadership ensures highquality design and implementation drives project execution guarantees complete and accurate documentation and oversees formal handover to operations teams to ensure stable supportable solutions.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering

• Act as the technical lead across SDWAN Wireless and Core Network platforms.
  
• Own the design implementation optimisation and troubleshooting of enterprise and serviceprovider network solutions.
  
• Provide expert input into architecture standards and best practices.
  
• Review and approve technical designs lowlevel designs (LLDs) configurations and change plans.
  
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex network issues.
  

Project Delivery

• Drive endtoend project delivery from requirements gathering and design through implementation and closure.
  
• Ensure projects are delivered on time within scope and to agreed quality standards.
  
• Work closely with project managers vendors and internal stakeholders.
  
• Identify risks dependencies and mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  
• Support project planning estimations and technical governance.
  

Operational Oversight & Collaboration

• Provide seniorlevel support and guidance to Operations teams when required.
  
• Act as a technical escalation point for complex incidents and changes.
  
• Collaborate with Security Cloud and Application teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  
• Mentor and guide junior and midlevel engineers.
  

Delivery & Leadership

• Proven experience leading complex network projects end to end.
  
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive outcomes independently.
  
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
  
• Experience working in structured IT service or enterprise environments.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric and a Bachelors degree in IT Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  
• Relevant certifications such as:
  
• CCNP / CCIE
  
• SDWAN vendor certifications
  
• Wireless certifications
  

Skills

• SDWAN solutions (e.g. Cisco Fortinet VMware Palo Alto or equivalent)
  
• Enterprise Wireless (design deployment optimisation)
  
• Routing & Switching (BGP OSPF VLANs QoS)
  
• Experience designing and supporting largescale multisite networks.
  
• Strong understanding of network security fundamentals (firewalls segmentation VPNs)
