Job Summary

In partnership with our client we are seeking a Sales Officer for the SME segment who genuinely understands the world of small and medium-sized businesses and knows how to serve them well. This is a role for someone who is on the ground building real relationships with entrepreneurs and business owners and connecting them with the financial products they need to grow. If you are passionate about SMEs and know how to drive results in a competitive market we want to meet you.

  • You are a sales professional with experience in SME sales or business development and you understand the unique financial needs of small and growing businesses.
  • You are a relationship builder at heart able to connect genuinely with small business owners and entrepreneurs.
  • You are target-driven and thrive in competitive environments where your results speak for themselves.
  • You are a good listener able to assess client needs and recommend financial products that are truly the right fit.
  • You are proactive and comfortable with field visits and networking to generate new business leads.
  • You are organised and detail-oriented maintaining accurate client records and reports consistently.
Your Responsibilities
  • You will identify and onboard SME clients who require financial services or credit facilities.
  • You will develop strong and lasting relationships with small business owners and entrepreneurs within your portfolio.
  • You will assess SME client needs and recommend suitable financial products to support their business growth.
  • You will generate business leads through networking referrals and field visits.
  • You will support SME clients through the loan application and onboarding process ensuring a smooth experience.
  • You will monitor client accounts and maintain regular communication to strengthen relationships.
  • You will achieve assigned portfolio and sales growth targets consistently.
  • You will provide insights on SME market opportunities to support business development strategy.
  • You will maintain accurate client records and reports at all times.
What Success looks like
  • Assigned portfolio and sales growth targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • A strong and growing book of SME clients is actively managed and retained.
  • SME clients are matched with the right financial products resulting in high satisfaction and low default rates.
  • New leads are consistently generated through field activity networking and referrals.
  • Client records and reports are accurately maintained and up to date at all times.
To be considered for this role you should have
  • A Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Marketing or a related field.
  • Experience in SME sales or business development.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • A solid understanding of SME financial needs and business operations.
  • Ability to meet targets in a competitive market.

  • Building trust with small business owners who may be skeptical of financial institutions or unfamiliar with available products.
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of SME clients with varying needs risk profiles and levels of financial literacy.
