We are seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to play a key role in the successful delivery of projects for our New Plymouth location. This is an opportunity to provide trusted support to projects from early development through execution.
The role
As a Cost Analyst you will be a key member of the project controls team responsible for providing accurate timely and insightful cost management across multiple projects.
You will work closely with Worley Location Managers Project Managers engineering procurement construction and finance teams to ensure that all project cost-related matters are transparent and in control.
The role is based at Worleys office in New Plymouth and you will be co-located and supported by the Worley Project Services team.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead cost control and cost analysis activities across a small project portfolio.
- Prepare review and validate project budgets forecasts and cost reports.
- Monitor project performance including commitments actuals trends and estimates to complete.
- Identify cost variances analyse root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Interface closely with Project Managers providing clear and confident cost advice.
- Support change management by assessing cost impacts and maintaining cost integrity.
- Preparation of project invoices in conjunction with the Accounts Department. Ensure payment of invoices according to contract terms.
- Support internal resource and financial forecasts for the New Plymouth location.
- Ensure compliance with Worley and client cost control standards systems and procedures.
- Contribute to project reviews where cost input is required.
About you
You are a confident project controls professional who enjoys working in a collaborative delivery focused environment. You bring strong analytical capability sound judgement and the ability to communicate and consult with stakeholders at all levels.
You will ideally have:
- A bachelors degree in engineering construction management business or a related discipline.
- 4 to 8 years of experience in cost control cost analysis or project controls within engineering construction or resources projects.
- Some experience with project scheduling / planning is desirable but not required.
- Skills and experience with project cost management systems forecasting and reporting.
- Experience supporting project portfolios.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with project management and internal stakeholders.
- Permanent residency within New Zealand.
