Director of Trauma Program
Fort Walton Beach FL Full-Time Day Shift
Salary Range: $115000 $135000 (Based on experience)
Position Overview
The Director of the Trauma Program is responsible for the strategic operational and financial health of the Trauma Center. This high-impact leadership role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and oversees 8 FTEs. You will coordinate research education and trauma operations while serving as the primary liaison with local and regional trauma systems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Operations: Lead strategic planning and ensure optimal care for trauma patients from admission to discharge.
Quality & Performance Improvement: Develop quality filters audits and case reviews. Monitor clinical processes and system issues to identify trends and improve outcomes.
Registry Management: Design and oversee the trauma registry to support research and performance improvement while maintaining confidentiality.
Financial Stewardship: Monitor and enhance the financial performance and resource utilization of the Trauma Center.
Daily Engagement: Conduct rounds coordinate with trauma surgeons and ED nurses and address patient/system concerns to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5 years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience (e.g. Trauma Program Manager Trauma Coordinator).
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
Licensure: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Certifications: BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire.
Clinical Expertise: Strong knowledge of trauma verification/re-verification processes and clinical research methodology.
Skills: Exceptional communication and interdisciplinary collaboration.
