SCHOOL OF CONTINUING EDUCATION
The School of Continuing Education one of the seven Faculties/Schools of the University and a major provider of continuing and professional education in Hong Kong offers a wide range of full-time and part-time programmes at the post-secondary undergraduate and postgraduate levels for young learners and working adults. It also offers in-house training and short courses to meet the community needs and market demands. Operated on a self-financed basis the School and its College of International Education currently employ about 400 full-time staff and 550 part-time School is inviting applications for the following position:
Senior Accounting Manager ()
The School aims to complete registration as a post-secondary college within the next three years committed to enhancing the internationalisation and diversification of higher education and developing distinctive and professional programmes that address the manpower needs of society. Once this strategic development is solidified it is planned that the role will evolve with a long-term prospect.
To support this transformation we are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to lead and develop the Accounting and Purchasing Section. Reporting to the Head of School Administration the appointee will lead financial planning and operations strengthen governance and controls drive finance transformation manage end-to-end centralised procurement activities including supplier tender and inventory management to enable the Schools strategic goals.
Applicants should possess a bachelors degree and membership in a recognised professional accounting body with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience including 35 years in a managerial role in sizeable organisations. They should have a strong technical grounding in financial accounting management reporting budgeting and internal controls along with experience in procurement/payables and income administration. Proficiency with accounting systems and Advanced Excel is essential. An excellent command of written and spoken English and Cantonese is required with Putonghua an advantage as well as experience in overseeing procurement process proven ability to lead teams manage change and deliver process improvements; project or change management certifications are a plus. Experience in tertiary education and/or knowledge of the selffinancing postsecondary education sector is an advantage.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
