We are seeking a skilled Security and Emergency Telecommunications Operator to join our state-of-the-art security control center in Oakville this critical role you will be responsible for managing emergency communications coordinating security responses and ensuring the safety of our healthcare facility through efficient dispatch operations.
- Operate advanced radio telephone and telecommunications equipment to receive and relay critical information
- Prioritize and dispatch emergency and non-emergency service calls to security personnel
- Coordinate with Security Team Leaders and emergency response teams during critical situations
- Maintain accurate logs and records in the dispatch and mobile records management system
- Provide clear instructions and information to healthcare staff municipal emergency services and other agencies
- Monitor and operate facility security and life safety systems
- Ensure compliance with security protocols and report non-compliance issues
- Train new dispatchers and security service providers staff
- Support parking operations enforcement activities and access control management
- Serve as a front-line representative providing excellent customer service
Qualifications :
- High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent required
- Post-secondary certificate/diploma in Emergency Telecommunications or related field
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate (must be completed within 3 months of hire)
- Emergency Management IMS 100 certification (must be completed within 3 months of hire)
- Proven experience working with advanced life safety and security systems in a centralized dispatch environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a clear speaking voice
- Strong proficiency in operating security and telecommunications systems
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations
- Advanced multi-tasking and organizational abilities
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new technical systems
- Customer service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work in shifts as required
- Physical presence required at the Oakville facility
Additional Information :
Hours: Weekends only 12 hour shifts; 0700-1900 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $26.82 to $29.76 per hour
