The Role

As ECT English Teacher you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 delivering a well-sequenced curriculum that develops strong reading writing and oracy skills. You will be supported to plan lessons that:

  • Build reading confidence through explicit teaching of comprehension and inference

  • Develop analytical thinking through structured discussion and close language analysis

  • Improve writing through modelling shared writing and purposeful practice

  • Strengthen vocabulary grammar and sentence fluency across year groups

Students study a range of engaging texts including novels plays and poetry while developing the core GCSE skills of comparison interpretation and extended argument. Lessons are structured to help students understand how to plan and craft high-quality responses with regular opportunities for feedback and improvement.
