3-Month Contract with a Local Authority
- This role is dedicated to delivering and modeling high-quality social work practices that safeguard and promote the welfare development and long-term outcomes for children in need including those in complex and high-risk situations. It provides professional leadership within the team supports less-experienced practitioners and contributes to continual service improvement.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
- Model consistently effective social work practice to ensure children experience good health development and secure emotional attachment.
- Support and advocate for disabled children ensuring their needs are met and they experience as normal a life as possible.
- Place children at the center of all assessments and interventions ensuring their wishes and feelings shape planning and decision-making.
- Complete high-quality assessments planning reviews and case management in line with statutory guidance and best practice standards.
Essential Experience Required
- Substantial post-qualification experience in childrens social work including high-risk and complex cases.
- Experience conducting specialist assessments and making expert professional judgments.
- Experience working within multi-agency safeguarding and child protection processes.
- Experience preparing high-quality written reports and presenting evidence to courts and panels.
- Experience supporting junior social workers students or team members in a developmental capacity.
- Experience coordinating professional networks and resolving professional disagreements.
Essential Qualifications Required
- Recognized Social Work qualification (e.g. BA MA DipSW CQSW).
- Practice Educator Qualification (PEQ) or equivalent to supervise and mentor students.
- Registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory body.
Additional Information to Note
- Working hours: 35 hours per week
- Enhanced DBS Required.
- Please note we work on bi-weekly payment.
