Job Summary

  1. Management and Supervision
    • Staff Management: Hire train and supervise laundry and linen room staff. Ensure

they follow proper procedures and maintain high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

    • Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all

shifts including peak times.

  1. Operations and Maintenance                                                                        .        .
    • Laundry Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the laundry room including

sorting washing drying ironing and folding linens and garments..          .

    • Equipment Management: Ensure all laundry equipment is functioning properly. Coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed and manage inventory of cleaning agents and other supplies.
  1. Quality Control
    • Standards Compliance: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Ensure that all linens and garments meet quality standards and are free of stains or damage.
    • Inspection: Regularly inspect laundry processes and finished products to ensure they meet organizational standards.
  2. Inventory Management
    • Stock Control: Manage inventory of linens uniforms and laundry supplies. Order new stock as needed and track usage to prevent shortages or overstocking.
    • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of linen inventory usage and laundering schedules.
  3. Budgeting and Cost Control
    • Expense Management: Develop and manage the budget for the laundry and linen room Including expenses for staff supplies and equipment maintenance.
    • Cost Efficiency: Implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Monitor and control costs related to utilities supplies and labor.
  4. Safety and Compliance
    • Health and Safety: Ensure that all laundry operations comply with health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant regulations and ensure compliance with local state and federal guidelines.
  5. Customer Service
    • Service Quality: Address any issues or complaints related to laundry and linen services from internal or external clients. Strive to meet or exceed service expectations.
    • Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate the timely delivery of clean linens and uniforms.

      8. Procedural Development

  • Policy Creation: Develop and implement policies and procedures for laundry and linen operations. Update procedures as needed to improve eff1c1ency and effectiveness
