About the job:
Based in Mons Belgium you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATOs Digital Endeavour. You will join NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) which is responsible for planning and executing all lifecycle management activities for cyber executing this responsibility NCSC provides specialist cyber security-related services covering the spectrum of scientific technical acquisition operations maintenance and sustainment support throughout the lifecycle of NATO Communications and Information Systems (CIS).
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Principal Technician (Cyber Security Infrastructure) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:
Provide advanced technical support for the operation maintenance and security of enterprise Windows-based server and client environments;
Implement approved configurations and security hardening measures perform system monitoring and troubleshooting and support service continuity and incident resolution activities;
Perform operating system vulnerability scans in accordance with NCSC policies and procedures;
Support preparation testing and maintenance of service recovery and continuity plans;
Support the NCSC Service Desk by providing specialist technical input for service requests incidents and problems;
Participate in 24x7 on-call engineer (OCE) duties when required.

About you:
The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:
Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience;
Microsoft MCSA/MCSE or equivalent fundamental certification;
At least 3 years practical experience operating and maintaining Windows-based infrastructure in secure environments;
Practical experience identifying and remediating vulnerabilities on Windows operating systems;
Strong practical experience administering Windows Server 2022 and Windows 11 enterprise environments;
Strong experience managing software OS updates and applications using MECM/WSUS in both connected and disconnected environments;
Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory including account lifecycle management GPOs and organisational units;
Experience administering DNS and DHCP services;
Experience administering Microsoft Exchange and Skype for Business environments;
Practical scripting experience using Microsoft PowerShell;
Experience administering file and print services including access control and security settings;
Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments;
Experience using operating system deployment tools (e.g. MECM OSD);
Good knowledge of Windows operating system security principles;
Basic understanding of internet and network protocols (HTTP SSL/TLS TCP/IP);
Familiarity with IT service management processes including incident problem change and request fulfilment;
Fluency in English both written and spoken.
