Qualifications Required:
Level 4 Children Young People and Families Practitioner or Level 3 Residential Childcare

Full UK Driving Licence with business insurance (essential)

Experience Required:
Previous experience working with children particularly those with Learning Disabilities or additional needs (essential)
Supervisory experience beneficial but not essential

The Home:
A nurturing residential setting providing care and support to children with learning disabilities. The service focuses on helping young people overcome adversity develop independence and reach their full potential with strong emphasis on education and life skills.

Who we are looking for:
Our client is seeking a compassionate patient and dedicated Deputy Manager who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

You will:

Provide direct care and support ensuring safety dignity and wellbeing at all times
Support and oversee staff in managing behaviours promoting self-control and positive development
Safeguard children and ensure policies and procedures are adhered to
Assist the Registered Manager with daily and weekly operational tasks
Ensure referrals are appropriately matched and information is shared effectively
Deliver effective handovers and delegate appointments appropriately
Provide supervision and mentoring to team members
Support with documentation including Statement of Purpose Regulation 45 reports and location risk assessments
Assist with personal care including hygiene dressing and feeding where required
Promote education life skills and community inclusion
Build positive relationships with children families and external professionals
Implement and review individual care plans
Monitor and record progress behaviours and changing needs
Use de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies
Participate in team meetings and training
Promote a safe clean and nurturing environment
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and safeguarding practices
Follow whistleblowing and safeguarding procedures
Exercise vigilance regarding Health & Safety

Flexibility is required to work shifts including evenings weekends public holidays and sleep-ins.
