In this full-time permanent role youll work as a part of our Domestic/Family Violence Specialist Service team in Mt Isa to help us create lasting change for children everywhere. As a leader youll contribute to strategies that enhance safety and reduce future risk of experiences of violence through the teams counselling and case management support for aggrieved adults children and young people.

You will make a difference by:

  • Leading developing and motivating a dedicated and driven team
  • Providing formal professional supervision (minimum monthly)
  • Supporting and monitoring the programs to ensure we meet targets
  • Building relationships with the local community
  • Actively assisting staff to develop case plans safety plans and providing feedback regularly
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

Youre active creative and can develop and maintain partnerships with external organisations at all levels and you can supervise coach and mentor others with an empathetic approach.

This role requires:

  • A genuine passion to support and manage a high-performing team to meet and exceed objectives and achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Experience in conducting safety and risk assessments for DFV and sexual violence
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build a cohesive and high performing team
  • Experience in building strong networks and partnerships in community
  • Commitment to culturally safe work practices and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Ability to develop implement monitor and evaluate activities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and de-escalate complex scenarios
  • Current valid drivers licence
