Responsibilities
Wellstar is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Ear Nose & Throat practice. Wellstar ENT Roswell is home to our Head and Neck Cancer program where we care for patients at Wellstar North Fulton Cancer Center a 12 million dollar state of the art comprehensive care center.
This position typically requires working with patients of all ages in a clinic setting assisting in the operating room and rounding on hospitalized patients. Weekend rounding required (shared with team).
In this role you will:
- Perform first OR assist duties
- Take patient histories conduct physical examinations and record data in patients medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
- Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
- Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
- Complete pre-op appointments for surgical patients work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
- Participate as a full member of a multi-disciplinary care team
Qualifications
Must hold aPhysician AssistantorCertified Family Nurse Practitioner with RNFAorDual Acute Care and Family Certified Nurse Practitioner with RNFA (or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Previous ENT experience preferred
OR experience or training preferred
ACLS/BLS required
