Job Summary
Learning Prep School in Newton MA is seeking a Reading Specialist Teacher to join our faculty as soon as possible in this newly added role will primarily instruct Middle School students who are our most significantly impacted readers. The teacher will provide daily reading instruction in a small-group setting using the Wilson Reading System and other structured literacy approaches that support decoding encoding fluency and comprehension based on individual student needs. This position requires strong foundational reading instruction skills a patient and encouraging demeanor and the flexibility to adapt materials and methods to each learners students have complex learning profiles and we are committed to providing them with the education they deserve delivered through the best practices of language-based instruction. While we are not a therapeutic setting or a program for students with significant behavioral support needs we do offer speech and language occupational therapy and counseling services as part of our delivery model.LPS is a great place to work! - Wilson Reading System Level 1 Certification (Required)
- Wilson Reading System Level 2 Certification (Preferred)
- Experience with reading programs such as Orton-Gillingham LiPS Visualizing/Verbalizing and/or UFLI preferred
- Prior experience working with students with language-based learning disabilities strongly preferred
