We have an opportunity for a Housing Options Officertobecome part of a unique and important customer facing team within our Housing Options service.

The Role

As part of delivering the homeless contract on behalf of Bromsgrove DistrictCouncil you willbe requiredto help prevent homelessness andwillprovide a comprehensive housing advice and homelessness service to our customers including the assessment of need andsubsequentallocation.

The Housing Options service is an ever changing service that evolves to the needs of the customers and the business so you will need to have anopen mindedapproach and a can doenergetic attitude.

Our customers are diverse and can be vulnerable the role can bevery challengingso you will need to have a flexible caringunderstandingand positive approach.

About You

To be successfulyou will need to have experience of working within acustomer basedenvironment that acknowledges and understands vulnerabilities.

With experience of working in social housing customer facing teamspreferably within ahousingoptionsenvironment you will have the ability to adapt your communication style to suit individual needs.

An understanding of Homeless legislation to include investigating homeless applications along with knowledge / experience of welfare benefits would be preferable.

The jobholderis required tohold a current valid driving licence and access to an appropriately insured vehicle.

This post requires that the job holderissubject to a DBS check atanEnhanced level.
