The Role:
The Pastoral Support Officer will play a central role in supporting the wellbeing behaviour and personal development of students across KS3KS4. This is a role that requires emotional intelligence empathy patience and consistency. You will work closely with Heads of Year to monitor behaviour patterns track pastoral concerns respond to student issues support restorative conversations and ensure that interventions are followed through.

Your day may include checking in with vulnerable students liaising with teachers about concerns communicating with parents completing safeguarding documentation supporting detentions monitoring behaviour logs and ensuring that students are referred to the correct interventions. You will be an approachable and supportive presence for students helping them to navigate challenges and maintain positive engagement with school.

Requirements:
Experience in a pastoral youth work or school-based role
Strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
Ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds
Understanding of safeguarding procedures (training provided)
Excellent communication reliability and resilience
Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
