Role Overview:

This role is to provide overarching occupational health and safetyexpertiseto one of Apexs most valued clients a national aerospace manufacturer. Over the last2decadesApex has worked hand and hand with the national aerospace manufacturer helping them achieve theiroccupationalhealth andsafetyergonomicenvironmentalandengineering incumbent will serve asaMid Senior Level Safety Specialistcontractor to theirWichita Kansasfacility.

This role will be a full-time onsite position. The client has requested5days a week/8-hour days with some days covering shift roll over (9am 5pm).The current role isslatedfor 6 months with the possibility of extensionbased onperformanceprojectneedsand budgetalignment.

The incumbent will executeamajorityoccupational safetyprojects from start to rolewill routinely involve aBLENDof(1)workplace / shop floorsafetyand riskassessmenttasks(2)employeesafetyprogrameffectivenessevaluations andcontinuous improvementsupport.

The incumbentinthis safety rolewill also provide project management functionsas mostimportantly the incumbent will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results within budget andtimeframe.

Your Responsibilities as a Sr Safety Specialist:

• Providingcomprehensiveoccupationalsafetyconsulting services to clients includingconductingshop floor observations focused onidentifyingassessingand risk-rankingemployeeexposuresto injuryor illness anddevising solution options aimed at mitigatinginjury/illnessexposures.
• In collaboration withApexclient relationship managers coordinates and executessafetyprojects within set organizational procedures and standards.
• In close routine collaboration with the external customer implements and executes an agreed-to service andreportsprogress on plan completion as withnumerousinternal and external stakeholders in the interest of achieving desired overall project velocity.
• Actsas an advisor to the customer onoccupationalsafetyissues.
• Provides input to client relationship managers or business development staff on potential newEHSprojects.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelors degreerequiredpreferablyin a science or engineering field.
• Minimum6years ofhands-onexperiencerequiredworking in the occupational safetyfield a plus ifthe incumbent has industrial hygiene andergonomic experience as well.
• Examples of desirable(but notrequired) professional credentials:Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP);Associate Safety Professional (ASP);Certified Safety Professional (CSP);Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
• Experience inmanufacturing-&-assemblyindustries / heavy industrysettingsa in the aerospace and defenseor automotiveindustrya furtherplus.
• Possess knowledge ofoccupational safetyand industrial hygienetechnical subject matter and how to apply it in real-life with standard concepts practices and procedures within theoccupational safetyand industrial hygienefields.

• Strong technical writing skills the ability to successfully multi-task safety awareness and a good record and understanding of safe work practices
• Experience with data management andreport preparation.
• Valid drivers licenserequired.
• Proficiencywith Microsoft Office suite.
