Salary ranges from $113574 to $125720 p.a. plus superannuation annual leave loading

About the role

The Statutory Planner plays a critical role in supporting timely delivery of safe high-quality educational facilities by providing expert statutory planning advice. The role applies relevant planning policies regulations and legislations to assess development proposals and support successful delivery of School infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

Building and maintaining positive relationship with internal and external stakeholders to support informed statutory planning outcomes
Developing maintaining and reviewing statutory planning processes procedures and documentation
Preparing high-quality evidence-based briefs reports and responses to meet statutory and compliance obligation
Monitoring changes in statutory planning legislation and regulatory and ensure development proposal remain compliant

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

Proven statutory planning experience
Effective stakeholder engagement and strong analytical skills to interpret and apply legislation
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate intricate technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.
A high-attention to detail and a strategic solution-focused approach.
Impeccable organisational skills to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
Proven ability to prepare high-quality evidence-based recommendations to ensure adherence to legislative requirements.
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Urban/Regional Planning and/or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
