The Role:

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for managing union payroll reporting across the U.S. and Canada processing certified and prevailing wage reports and supporting both U.S. and Canadian payroll operations. This role provides direct support to employees on payroll benefits and timekeeping inquiries while also serving as a backup for key payroll functions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with HR/payroll-related tasks and contributing to departmental projects and acquisition activities.

This position will report to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead processor for one of the Canada payroll/benefits and biweekly/monthly reporting
  • Assist with the US payroll entry timecard review and reporting
  • Review and process quarterly taxable mileage report
  • Respond to separation requests employment and/or benefit verifications garnishments and other mail
  • Crosstrain within the department to provide backup coverage
  • Provide customer service to employees regarding time and attendance benefits and payroll questions
  • Other general HR/PR functions as needed

What You Will Need:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Human Resources or Business Administration
  • 24 years of experience inpayroll and benefits management
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to deal with difficult sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong time management and prioritizing skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Strong PC knowledge including Excel
  • Working knowledge of ADP and Payworks desired but not required
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player
