We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of AI/ML Developer - Global Markets
In this role you will:
- The MSS AI team works with Front Office and leads the enablement and development of market leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions for the Markets and Securities Services division.
- The team acts both as advisor and builder of novel AI/ML solutions for clients sales and trading and collaborates across MSS business lines and HSBC divisions.
- We seek to bring innovative ideas and approaches to both AI/ML solutions and to the data sources which underpin their use to solve existing and new business problems and to highlight new market and client opportunities.
- You will be joining as an AI/ML Developer as part of a global team. As part of the team you will build experiment and productionise AI/ML solutions which deliver value to business and clients in close partnership with sales and trading

- Deploy / productionise MSS Data Science teams projects. Build MLOps infrastructure to enable large-scale ML/DL model development training and deployment
- Build and optimize model inference integration backtesting frameworks. Working with data scientists and quants to onboard ML/DL/RL use cases
- Managing the delivery of multiple complex projects from design through to release. Understanding and contributing to the technical solution from design through to code
- Responsibility for ensuring that risks and issues are identified and managed closely to deliver on time and to the required quality standards whilst adhering to the SDLC. Run post implementation reviews helping to demonstrate success or otherwise of deliveries.
To be successful you will:
- Proficient in Python production development in enterprise environment
- Good experience of data science/ML stacks e.g. pandas/numpy/sklearn/pytorch
- Good experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins) version control (Git) software testing and a solid understanding of DevOps methodologies
- Good experience of databases e.g. MongoDB RDBMS KDB
- Experience of MLOps frameworks e.g. MLFlow Kubeflow etc. Good experience of Cloud platforms e.g. GCP Azure
- Good understanding of machine learning deep learning NLP models in general. Good knowledge of overall computer science e.g. programming distributed computing OS security networks
- Experience of other programming languages is a plus e.g. Java/C/Javascript.
