Job Summary

Introduction

Our client in Paarl is looking for a Production Supervisor to join their production facility in Paarl.

The Production Supervisor must guide and supervise the production teams and ensure the efficient use of machinery in the factory to produce a high quality profitable and food safe products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production Control

Check that fruit off-loading area and factory is clean.
Make sure that forklifts take the correct bins for processing.
Inform General Manager if quality of fruit is poor.
Check operators and operations at water bath sorting belt decanter/citrus line ultrafiltration and evaporator - handle problems.
Contact relevant people during breakdowns and keep record of breakdown time.
Ensure that production personnel clean and sanitize according to cleaning work instructions and cleaning schedules.
Ensure that corrections and corrective actions take place within given time-frame.
Check sufficient stock levels for night-shift.
Liaise with cleaning company to ensure and improve the effectiveness of all cleaning procedures.

Supervision

Supervision of the production shift team.
Communicate production meeting outcomes daily instructions and shift problems.
Motivate production personnel.
Handle grievances and disciplinary procedures.
Communicate and plan changes to shift schedule to adhere to production schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12
2 years working experience in an operational environment within a supervisory role
Experience with the following would be advantageous:
Food Production
Machine Operating/Maintenance
Quality Control

SALARY

R15 000 R20 000 CTC
