We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Business Solution Asia.

Role Purpose

The Head of Business Solution APAC is responsible for developing business strategy enterprise architecture and portfolio architecture to deliver business value.

As HSBC iWPB Wealth & Premier Solutions embraces cloud Agile and DevOps practices this role is pivotal in driving the successful execution of the digital strategy. The position involves direct engagement with business stakeholders to convert their initiatives into practical technical solutions. It also includes managing a team of architects within an architecture sub-function with the following key areas of accountability:

- Defining maintaining and owning the enterprise architecture for the Chief Information Office function ensuring compliance with group standards and policies.

- Managing design activities associated with the Wealth & Premier Solutions (WPS) portfolio of change.

- Leading the Enterprise Architecture & Design Practice within the Chief Information Office function ensuring consistent implementation of the target architecture across DevOps teams.

Principal Responsibilities

This role will involve the following activities:

- Leading the development and implementation of architecture strategy and standards for the Wealth & Premier Solutions value stream.

- Supporting the business in defining a coherent technology change portfolio aligned with the Future State Architecture.

- Acting as the recognized technical expert for relevant HSBC business domains and systems.

- Serving as the accountable design authority for technology decisions and leading governance bodies.

- Ensuring end-to-end accountability for products or services by identifying and developing optimal technology solutions to meet customer needs.

- Partnering with business stakeholders to develop and execute the technology strategy.

- Collaborating with developers testers and system administrators to ensure a smooth and efficient software development lifecycle.

- Driving platform evolution by adopting new technologies such as Generative AI.

Preferred Qualifications

- Demonstrable entrepreneurial spirit; a change driver and fast learner.

- A university graduate preferably from a top international university. Advanced degrees (MS or PhD) are highly desirable.

- Full-stack software engineering capabilities including front-end middleware and backend development.

- Hands-on engineering expertise in state-of-the-art technologies with a focus on practical implementation (Talk is cheap. Show me the code Linus Torvalds).

- Contributions to international academic industrial or open-source communities are a significant advantage.

- Business knowledge in financial services (retail wholesale investment banking wealth management insurance financial markets etc.).

- Ability to read and understand the latest academic and research papers in banking financial services and technology domains.

- Strong analytical design and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to deliver effective presentations to internal and external stakeholders.

- Intellectually curious creative and committed to solving challenging problems.

- Team player with the ability to work under pressure and minimal supervision.

- Experience working in a DevOps-focused environment and Agile teams.

- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements with a willingness to take on new responsibilities.

- Ability to work across multiple domains of knowledge and share expertise within the team.

Requirements

- Experience: Proven experience in delivering business cases and complex solutions into practical technical solutions and related roles within the wealth management finance domain.

- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.

- Technical Expertise:

- Cloud technologies and architecture.

- Data modeling and data architecture concepts.

- APIs and messaging infrastructure standards.

- Integration concepts techniques and patterns.

- Security concepts and design.

- Infrastructure design and concepts.

- Architecture Governance: Knowledge of architecture disciplines and industry standards with the ability to implement governance practices effectively.
