Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The Coordinator Volunteer Engagement organizes and coordinates volunteers in various programs that contribute to the benefits and services offered to VIHA clients. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team the Coordinator supports the administration of recruitment online training and recognition of volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
High school graduation plus additional study in a related field. At least 3 years experience in a paid or unpaid Volunteer Coordination position. Knowledge or familiarity of the Volunteer Management Theory Cycle considered an asset.
Skills And Abilities
- Superior computer and technological skills (MS Office Suite required)
- Demonstrated administrative skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience working with a database.
- Demonstrated experience as a volunteer is an asset.
- Supporting volunteer teams is an asset.
- Willingness to learn new online systems.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
