JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly capable Estimating & Operations Support Officer to assist with residential construction quoting and provide direct business support to the owner.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in residential construction estimating excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently under deadlines.

The successful candidate will complete the bulk of quote preparation using Servicem8 with input from the business owner and estimator. They will also play a key role in building a structured database of previous quotes to improve estimating efficiency and consistency moving forward.

This is a fast-paced support role requiring initiative reliability and a strong commercial mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Estimating Support (Primary Function)

Assist with preparation of residential construction quotes and scopes
Draft quote line items including:

Labour allowances
Materials
Prime cost items
Insurance and margin allowances

Prepare quote descriptions clearly and professionally
Ensure quotes are accurate commercially sound and aligned with business pricing standards
Support the estimator by completing draft estimates and overflow quoting work
Assist with reviewing quote details prior to issue to clients
Help meet urgent deadlines when quoting workload increases

2. Servicem8 Quote Preparation

Prepare and format quotes within Servicem8
Maintain clean and consistent quote formatting and descriptions
Learn internal quoting standards and replicate quoting structures accurately
Ensure all items are entered correctly and reflect expected scope inclusions

3. Quoting Database Development

Build and maintain a structured database of previous quotes
Categorise and organise quotes by project type value and scope category
Create reference templates and standard scope items for future quoting
Improve consistency and reduce quoting turnaround time over time

4. Business & Operations Support

Provide direct support to the business owner across day-to-day operational tasks
Assist with supplier follow-ups document preparation and internal coordination
Support both businesses as required with admin and task-based assistance
Handle confidential information professionally (pricing costs margins supplier rates)

Requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience in residential construction estimating (essential)
Strong understanding of construction processes and how residential builds are assembled
Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Commercial awareness and ability to work with cost-sensitive information
High level of computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly
Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
Experience with quoting software (Servicem8 highly regarded but not essential)
