The Assistant Football Coach supports the Head Coach in the management development and success of the universitys football program. This role includes coaching assigned position groups assisting in game planning recruiting student-athletes and fostering academic and personal growth among team members. The Assistant Coach helps ensure that all activities comply with NCAA conference and institutional policies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of practices training sessions and conditioning programs for assigned position group(s).
- Provide individual and group instruction to develop players technical skills game knowledge and overall performance.
- Contribute to the development of game plans opponent scouting reports and in-game adjustments.
- Identify evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA and university guidelines.
- Mentor and support student-athletes in their academic athletic and personal development.
- Assist with monitoring player eligibility academic progress and compliance with team and university policies.
- Participate in program operations including equipment management travel coordination and event preparation.
- Promote sportsmanship leadership and teamwork among student-athletes.
- Represent the football program positively within the university and broader community.
Education
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
- Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferably in football.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and travel.
- Must be able to lift at 15 pounds.
