Job Summary

A well-established 1118 secondary school in Manchester is seeking a motivated and reflective Early Career Teacher of History to join its thriving Humanities department. The Role

This position is designed with ECT development at its core. You will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the opportunity to contribute to KS5 as you gain confidence and experience.

Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging well-structured History lessons
Contributing to a knowledge-rich and carefully sequenced curriculum
Supporting GCSE preparation and revision strategies
Using formative and summative assessment to track progress
Participating in departmental collaboration and professional learning

The History curriculum emphasises both substantive knowledge and disciplinary thinking. Students are encouraged to engage critically with sources develop structured extended writing and explore a diverse range of historical perspectives.


ECT Support & Development
