About the role
The Senior Management Accountant is an important role within the Finance organisation at Monument Re Group assuming responsibility for expense and operational cash reporting including robust and accurate reporting of all expense movements across the Irish entities along with involvement in the onboarding and integrations of acquisitions. This new role will support the growth of the Finance function and report to the Head of Financial Planning Analysis and Integrations while working closely with the wider Irish Finance team. This is an 11 month fixed term contract.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management of accounting activity in relation to cash management expenses and VAT including P&L and Balance sheet reconciliations which agree to Anaplan.
- Complete end to end review of all expense payments are recorded correctly in the ledger whether they are BAU or project specific.
- Ensuring accurate and timely production of monthly quarterly and annual expense reports.
- Responsible for the management and timely recharging of services rendered from the Irish services entity to Group companies.
- Prepare monitor and interpret expense budgets and forecasts.
- Report on key trends through accurate analysis identification and reporting including variances to forecast.
- Liaise and build relationships with banks and external auditors.
- Regularly liaising with and presenting to external and internal stakeholders across the Group.
- Ensuring compliance of risks and controls with bi-annual updates provided on Covi.
- Leadership and development of team membersempowering individuals to own their areas.
Role Requirements
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills exceptional problem-solving skills a flair for numbers be highly organised and have excellent leadership skills.
- Qualified Accountant with at least 4 years PQE.
- Experience in the Insurance industry essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with various teams within the Group.
- Sound knowledge of accounting fundamentals and compliance oriented.
- Proficient experience in accounting software packages e.g. Microsoft Dynamics/Anaplan is advantageous.
