Atlantic Unions Summer Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local students to gain practical work experience helping students become better prepared to enter into the financial industry post-graduation. Students have the ability to build professional networks and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
Atlantic Unions Corporate Security and Safety Intern Program is designed to give college students an introduction into physical security and safety management. It is our intent to give the Intern real assignments. Assignments that stretch the Intern provide the Intern with valuable experience and allow the Intern to contribute to the Corporate Security and Safety Department.
Position Accountabilities
The Intern is provided assignments that will include involvement with physical access control systems intrusion detection systems video management systems and life safety procedures. The intern will also get the opportunity to:
- Assist with security system design and technology
- Collaborate on security procedures and reference guides
- Shadow and assist with security risk assessments.
- Contribute to security strategy research and analysis
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Corporate Security Officer and will follow the hybrid work schedule (Tues/Wed/Thursday in office).
Position Qualifications
Education Experience and Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Currently working on degree in security management criminal justice or related field.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
- Must be available to work a 40-hour week Monday through Friday
- Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments professional and academic goals and expectations of this internship position
- Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organization skills
- Must be able to function well with indirect supervision
