Postdoctoral Fellow in the field of extragalactic observations and galaxy evolution

Job Summary
The Department of Astronomy at the University of Michigan is looking for a postdoctoral fellow in the field of extragalactic observations and galaxy evolution. The fellow will work with Prof. SeanJohnson and take leadership of projects on observations of the circumgalactic and intergalactic medium in emission and absorption using state-of-the-art integral-field spectrographs on the VLT and Magellan as well as on space-based quasar spectra from the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph. If interested the fellow will also have opportunities to advise student intern research projects at various levels. The fellow will be encouraged to lead observing proposals on national and international facilities and/or participate in research collaborations.
Applicants must have a PhD or expect to complete their PhD before the postdoc start date.
