The opportunity

If 2026 is the year you are looking to return to Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand we have some exciting opportunities in our Audit teams to support with accelerating your career.

We are actively recruiting professionals with previous external Audit experience in either Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand and who can start in early 2026.

As part of EY Assurance you will be given the leading-edge tools and technology you need to develop your skills and contribute to impactful work supporting our clients across diverse industry sectors. EY Assurance professionals partner with our clients to navigate risks and complexities creating long-term value trust and confidence within their organisations.

As an EY auditor you will work alongside the data transformation team to create new custom audit solutions which are at the forefront of innovation leaving time to genuinely engage consult and connect with our clients and teams.

This role can be performed from any of our EY offices across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

Planning and coordinating audits with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues ensuring audits are executed in compliance with policies and protocols.
Executing audit processes with an understanding of an entitys operating environment.

Eligibility skills and attributes for success

Hold valid working rights for Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand (Citizens or Permanent Residents).
A degree and/or progress towards/completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA CPA ACCA or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
Experience leading the planning execution and reporting on audits.

Ideally youll have the skills and attributes below but dont worry if you dont tick all the boxes. Were interested in your aptitude attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.
The ability to build relationships with clients delivering key business and market insights.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to teaming.
