Adult Support Paraprofessionals Special Education
SOS Personnel is recruiting experienced compassionate Adult Support Paraprofessionals to support students with mild to severe disabilities in Christina School District schools.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon SOS Personnel being awarded the Christina School District Adult Support Paraprofessional contract. Qualified candidates will be pre-screened and placed in our priority hiring pool pending contract award.
Position Overview
Adult Support Paraprofessionals will:
- Work directly with students under teacher supervision
- Support implementation of IEP goals and Behavior Support Plans
- Utilize positive behavior interventions and de-escalation techniques
- Maintain close supervision to ensure student safety
- Assist with academic engagement and data collection
- Support students during transitions community activities and non-instructional times
- Assist with self-care tasks (toileting feeding transfers) if assigned
This role may involve working with students with autism emotional disabilities intellectual disabilities medically fragile needs and severe behavioral challenges.
This is not a general classroom aide role it requires emotional resilience professionalism and experience in structured educational settings.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet ONE of the following:
- Associates degree or higher (GPA 2.0) OR
- 60 college credits OR
- ParaPro Assessment score of 459
AND:
- Eligible for DEEDS Paraprofessional Certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to pass criminal background check child protection registry clearance and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with assistance)
Experience working with students with disabilities strongly preferred.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on credentials and experience.
