GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Temporary Construction Technician in Rawlins WYto perform basic construction tasks under supervision to provide a safe and effective transportationsystem.

Thisis a temporary full-time position that could last up to 9 months.

Construction tasks include performing basic lab tests and survey procedures.
Perform construction inspections.
Prepare and check computations and data.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to individuals who can perform algebraic calculations.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of materials testing.
Knowledge of surveying methods and equipment operations.
Knowledge of construction inspection which includes interpretation of plans and specifications.
Skill in the use of computers.
Strong math skills are required.
Ability to perform algebraic calculations

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This position requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Individuals in this classification must be available for work at any time including nights weekends and holidays.
Acceptance of an appointment to this classification signifies that the individual is aware of this requirement and will comply with it.

Wyoming Department of Transportation is a Drug-Free Workplace.
WYDOT will conduct motor vehicle record checks to verify for a valid drivers license.
Minimum age of 18 years.
