Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a Director of Mechanical Engineering located in Guadalajara North Campus.
This role leads a team of Mechanical Engineers focused on the design validation and implementation of innovative and cost-effective product solutions across diverse customer segmentsfrom early concept and architecture to mass production.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead and develop a team of senior Mechanical Engineering managers responsible for complex design activities aligned with Flexs business strategy.
- Ensure projects meet schedule cost and quality targets through structured reviews and effective governance.
- Oversee lifecycle engineering activities and customer support processes to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
- Partner closely with Operations to integrate Design for Manufacturability principles and ensure robust ramptoproduction execution.
- Provide strategic direction define functional goals and align priorities with site and corporate objectives.
- Manage departmental budgets resources and performance indicators in line with corporate guidelines.
- Drive development and continuous improvement of mechanical technology solutions across multiple product categories.
- Foster a culture of innovation operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Lead workforce planning talent development and retention strategies.
The experience were looking to add to our team:
- Bachelors degree in engineering; MBA preferred.
- Significant experience in leadership roles within metal-mechanical or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Strong background in NPI and product development processes.
- Advanced English level.
- Experience with P&L ownership or functional financial responsibility.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical fabrication processes (punching bending stamping welding insertion painting and mechanical assembly).
- Excellent analytical decision-making and problemsolving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities including executive audiences.
