Job Summary

A high performing and academically ambitious secondary school in Oxford is seeking a skilled and motivated Design & Technology Teacher to join its thriving department from April 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to teach within a structured environment where practical innovation and technical excellence are strongly valued.

The DT department delivers a broad curriculum including Product Design Resistant Materials and engineering-focused projects supported by well-equipped workshops and CAD/CAM resources.

The Role

  • Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 depending on specialism

  • Delivering engaging project-based learning experiences

  • Supporting pupils with NEA coursework and examination preparation

  • Promoting creativity problem-solving and technical precision

  • Ensuring workshop health & safety compliance and risk assessment procedures

  • Monitoring pupil progress and implementing attainment strategies

  • Contributing to curriculum innovation and departmental planning

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in Design & Technology or related field

  • Experience teaching DT at secondary level

  • Strong workshop management and health & safety knowledge

  • High expectations for pupil engagement and achievement

  • A proactive and collaborative professional approach
