MalaceHR is seeking full-time Maintenance Technicians to support facilities operations on a college campus. This role is responsible for performing a variety of general building maintenance tasks to ensure campus facilities remain safe functional and well-maintained for students faculty and staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience in general building maintenance and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
Schedule
Full-time; Monday through Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Additional scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process. Flexibility may be required to meet campus operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain repair clean and operate campus buildings mechanical areas exterior grounds and related facilities
Perform general maintenance duties including painting drywall repair minor carpentry plumbing and basic electrical work
Complete assigned work orders and update job status using company systems
Assist with minor and routine repairs; escalate major issues to supervisors or skilled trades as appropriate
Support campus fleet and equipment maintenance as needed
Clean sidewalks parking areas and exterior spaces; remove debris and maintain grounds
Operate electrical and gasoline-powered tools and equipment safely
Perform minor repairs to tools and equipment using hand and power tools
Change lamps perform preventative maintenance and conduct routine inspections
Respond to facility emergencies and complete urgent repairs as necessary
Maintain maintenance logs and documentation
Read and follow detailed verbal and written instructions
Serve as a member of the facility emergency response team
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior experience in general building maintenance (painting drywall basic plumbing/electrical etc.) required
At least one year of related maintenance experience preferred
Valid drivers license required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily deadlines
Working Conditions
Work may involve exposure to heat noise dust dirt and outdoor weather conditions
May require use of ladders and working at heights
Ability to lift carry push and pull materials and equipment
Must be flexible to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed to support campus operations
