Summary
The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for Facilities Information Technology (IT) and Fleet Management across the organization. This role ensures that the organizations physical infrastructure technology systems and transportation resources are safe compliant efficient and aligned with the organizations mission.
The Director of Operations partners closely with program and administrative leaders to support high-quality service delivery. This position balances strategic planning with hands-on oversight and strong vendor management including direct management of the organizations Managed Service Provider (MSP).
Essential Job Functions
  • Provide strategic direction leadership and oversight to the Facilities Manager to establish priorities in the maintenance and operation of residential homes program sites and administrative offices (26 locations) .
  • Ensure compliance with licensing standards life safety codes OSHA requirements ADA accessibility standards and all applicable federal state and local regulations.
  • Ensure processes are in place for all preventative maintenance programs and facility inspection protocols.
  • Support budgeting planning and execution of a variety of capital improvements renovations and expansion projects.
  • Monitor facilities budgets and project and manage long-term capital planning.
  • Ensure readiness for regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and business continuity planning.
  • Provide strategic direction for the organizations IT systems infrastructure and cybersecurity posture.
  • Directly manage the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) including:
    • Contract oversight and performance monitoring
    • Service level agreement (SLA) accountability
    • Escalation management and issue resolution
    • Strategic technology planning in partnership with the MSP and agency executive leadership
  • Ensure reliable network performance system security and data integrity across multiple sites.
  • Oversee HIPAA and data privacy compliance (if applicable).
  • Support the exploration development and implementation of technology solutions that enhance program documentation communication and operational efficiency.
  • Provide oversight of organizational fleet operations
  • Ensure compliance with vehicle safety regulations insurance requirements and driver eligibility standards.
  • Oversee fleet budget vehicle acquisition maintenance scheduling utilization tracking and replacement planning.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance related to fleet operations.
  • Support new program development site acquisitions and infrastructure scalability.
  • Acts in a manner consistent with organizational values program mission and service delivery goals. Serves as a resource and role model for staff.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration Operations Management Facilities Management Information Systems or related field required (masters preferred).
  • Minimum of 710 years of progressive leadership experience in operations facilities or infrastructure management.
  • Experience in nonprofit human services healthcare or multi-site environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor partnerships including IT service providers.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in licensed or residential settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit operational and regulatory environments.
  • Experience overseeing managed IT services and technology strategy.
  • Knowledge of facilities compliance life safety standards and risk management.
  • Familiarity with fleet safety and compliance standards.
  • Strong financial management and contract oversight skills.
Computer Skills
Demonstrated proficiency in use of e-mail the Internet and Microsoft Suite skills.
Knowledge and experience with electronic health care records
Knowledge and experience in reporting and presenting data
Analytical Skills
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve handle emergencies and successfully manage several projects simultaneously. Ability to analyze data
Language Skills
Mastery of the English language required as demonstrated by the ability to read and write instructions ability to read analyze and interpret field and/or professional journals technical procedures policy and procedure manuals and governmental regulations. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Individuals families staff or the general public. Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written instructions. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively facilitate meetings.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables in situations where standardization exists.
