BMW of Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department in Brooklun NY. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service while managing daily operations and driving the success of the service team. This role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $175000.00 to $200000.00 per year.
The Service Manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable service department. He/She will operate the department at maximum production controlling costs building loyal clientele maintaining good employee relationships setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives and maintaining service records. Job Responsibilities
- Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
- Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
- Attend managers meetings.
- Understand keep abreast of and comply with federal state and local regulations that affect service operations such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA right-to-know.
- Hire train motivate counsel and monitor the performance of all service department staff.
- Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.
- Provide technical assistance to employees as needed.
- Conduct meetings with department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest.
- Prepare weekly payroll for department and monthly commissions.
- Oversee the service department technicians service advisors service call center valet detailersand service lane
- Work with the Parts Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed
- Work with shop foreman to ensure customers vehicles are serviced properly and in a timely manner
- Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service dept.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Manager or in a similar leadership role within a dealership.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance processes particularly with BMW vehicles.
- Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with service management software and dealership operational systems.
- Valid drivers license

- Assure proper repair order flow to satisfy warranty/dealership/business office requirements
- Communicate with customers before issues arise and get involved in escalating customer issues
- Direct and schedule the activates of all department associates
- Ensure that all the necessary shop equipment is in proper working condition
- Ensure that proper sales techniques are being used
- Ensure that service department employees follow safety policies and practices and that they report any and all accidents immediately
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with customers to encourage repeat referral business
- Maintain accurate records and ensure warranty parts retention as outlined following all manufacturer requirements as outlined in manufacturer and company policy and procedures manuals
- Report on management of any circumstances that compromise the integrity of the dealership
- Serve as liaison with factory representatives
- Work with the parts department as appropriate to ensure proper stocking of high use parts
- Ensure that customers receive prompt courteous and effective service
- Serve as a liaison between technicians and customers
- Ensure customers have a positive dealership experience
- Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries whether phone or in person to assure the customer does not get mishandled
- Spend quality time building relationships with the customers
