The Opportunity

Were seeking a curious and motivated early-career professional to join our Business Development this role youll help connect customers to HudsonAlphas genomics products and services support the sales pipeline and ensure an excellent experience from first contact through project completion. Youll learn the full business development cycle in a dynamic environment that sits at the intersection of life sciences data and entrepreneurship.

What Youll Do

  • Follow up on leads conduct needsanalysis calls and assist in converting prospects into customers.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting in Salesforce CRM; track quotes opportunities and project milestones.
  • Support ongoing both standard and custom customer projects coordinating with lab and finance teams to ensure ontime highquality delivery.
  • Ensure priorities are communicated to cross-functional teams to ensure the success of new and current projects.
  • Responsible for Customer Success: engage customers recommend appropriate upsell services handle concerns as they arise and coordinate with internal teams as needed to support the customer.
  • Represent HudsonAlpha genomics programs at conferences-handle logistics and follow up with potential collaborators.
  • Research and identify prospective customers conferences and market opportunities in agriculture sequencing services and human genomics.
  • Contribute creative ideas for growing our commercial offerings and improving customer engagement.

What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors degree (business marketing or life science field preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 13years of experience in sales account support project coordination or marketing.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and comfort working with CRM systems (Salesforce experience a plus).
  • Natural curiosity about genomics and its realworld applications-and eagerness to keep learning.
  • Positive customerfocused attitude and desire to grow into a business development or account management career.
  • Must be based in Huntsville AL and available for onsite work.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and strategies

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for prolonged periods (50% of the time).
  • Constant moving during campus events.
  • Must be able to transport materials required for various experiences. This includes lifting and moving up to 25 pounds of materials (e.g. small stacks of media equipment and other equipment) between classrooms/events and to and from parking lots and buildings.
  • Frequent operation of common office equipment (e.g. computers mobile devices calculators copiers scanners).
  • Frequently move around HudsonAlpha campus to monitor guests of HudsonAlpha.
  • Occasional air/car travel for meetings conferences or other activities which may require overnight stay(s).
  • Vision abilities - close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

Environmental Factors

  • Moderate noise level (i.e. business office with computers phone and printers light traffic).
  • Workspace is generally an indoor office setting and in other common and education spaces throughout HudsonAlpha with controlled temperature conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to the outdoor environment during portions of the workday including extreme cold or hot temperatures or inclement weather conditions.

Mental Functions

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language.
  • Use interpersonal skills to foster a stimulating collaborative environment.
