Job Description: IBDP Mathematics Teacher (AA & AI)

Location: Lucknow

Programme: IB Diploma Programme (DP)

Position Overview

The IBDP Mathematics Teacher will teachMathematics: Analysis & Approaches (AA)andMathematics: Applications & Interpretation (AI)at bothSL and HL levels. The teacher will design learning experiences that promote strong mathematical thinking problem-solving conceptual understanding real-life application and inquiry-based learning consistent with the IB philosophy. The role requires familiarity with IB assessment expectations mathematical modeling and differentiated instruction.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

TeachIBDP Mathematics AA and AI (SL/HL)using inquiry-based concept-driven and student-centered methodologies.

Develop engaging lessons that build students analytical reasoning technological and modeling skills.

Integrate tools such as graphing software dynamic geometry applications spreadsheets and statistical technology where appropriate.

Prepare students for DP assessments including:

Paper 1 Paper 2 and Paper 3 (HL)

Mathematical Exploration (Internal Assessment)

Support students of varying abilities through differentiation scaffolding and enrichment opportunities.

Curriculum & Assessment

Plan unit plans and assessments aligned withIB DP Mathematics AA/AI guidesand school policies.

Create and grade formative and summative assessments using IB criteria and rubrics.

Provide timely constructive feedback to improve student performance.

Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and ensure readiness for IB internal and external assessments.

Contribute to ongoing curriculum review and development within the Mathematics Department.

Student Support

Mentor and support students through the IA process providing guidance in topic selection research mathematical justification and reflection.

Offer additional academic support through consultations tutorials or enrichment sessions.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding progress and learning needs.

Promote academic honesty resilience and responsible digital/technological use.

Professional Development & School Engagement

Stay updated with changes to the IB Mathematics curriculum and assessment procedures.

Contribute to co-curricular and extracurricular programs such as math clubs competitions Olympiads STEM events or tutoring initiatives.

Support broader school events and uphold the ethos of the IB Learner Profile.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in Mathematics Applied Mathematics Statistics Engineering or a related field.

Teaching certification (. PGCE PGDE or equivalent).

Experience teachingsenior-level mathematics preferably in an IB context.

Strong understanding of conceptual inquiry-based mathematics teaching.

Proficiency with mathematical technology (e.g. Desmos GeoGebra spreadsheet tools GDCs).

Experience teaching IBDP Mathematics AA and/or AI.

IB-certified training (DP Category 1/2).

Experience guiding students through Mathematical Exploration IAs.
