Job Role: IBDP Physics
Location:Lucknow
Curriculum Planning and Delivery:
- Develop lesson plans and teach the IBDP Physics curriculum ensuring alignment with IB standards.
- Teach both theory and practical elements of Physics in line with the IBDP Physics syllabus.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit students individual needs and learning styles.
- Promote inquiry-based learning and encourage critical thinking.
Classroom and Laboratory Management:
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive engaging learning environment.
- Oversee and supervise laboratory experiments ensuring students follow safety guidelines and get hands-on experience with equipment.
- Organize and prepare materials for practical experiments and demonstrations.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor and evaluate student progress.
- Provide timely constructive feedback on assignments projects and exams.
- Prepare students for external assessments (IB exams) including mock exams and revision sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
Student Support and Mentorship:
- Offer academic support to students addressing their learning needs through one-on-one sessions or group work.
- Provide guidance on research projects Internal Assessments (IAs) and Extended Essays (EE).
- Foster a growth mindset and encourage student participation in class discussions.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with colleagues in the science department and across subjects to integrate cross-curricular links and share best practices.
- Participate in regular faculty meetings parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Engage in continuous professional development attending workshops conferences and IB-related training.
- Stay updated on developments in the field of physics and education.
Extracurricular and Enrichment Activities:
- Lead or assist with extracurricular activities such as science clubs Physics Olympiads or student projects.
- Encourage students to pursue scientific inquiry outside the classroom including science fairs or competitions.
Communication and Reporting:
- Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
- Prepare and submit required reports for internal or IB-related assessments and audits.
Qualifications: Postgraduate degree in Physics or a related field relevant to IB certifications. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching physics preferably within the IB framework is often required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment are essential.
