RMITs School of Management within the College of Business and Law is seeking an experienced Education Leader to step into the pivotal role of Deputy Dean Learning and Teaching.The Deputy Dean role is offered as a three-year fixed-term contract with an underlying appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level. The academic level will bedeterminedbased on relevant qualifications skills and experience.
In this senior leadership role the Deputy Dean Learning and Teaching will drive strategic and scholarly excellence across the School of Management leading academic quality program innovation andbest practicepedagogy. The position oversees the designdeliveryand assurance of contemporarymarket responsiveprograms while providing guidance to senior academic leaders and supporting the schools strategic teaching and learning priorities. With responsibility for chairing key assessment and governance committees leading regulatory compliance coordinating funding submissions and ensuring consistent academic standards across multiple locations the role offers a significant platform for impact. The Deputy Dean will also foster strong collaboration with offshore partners and campus leaders ensuring that theSchoolsprogramsremainglobally connectedfuture focused and of the highest quality.
The Professor (Education Focused) is a senior academic leader who drives excellence and innovation in learning and teaching building staff capability and contributing to a vibrant education culture that enhances student outcomes.The role strengthens RMITs national and global education networks and elevates the reputation of theSchoolthroughhigh-qualityeducational practice.As a key contributor to theSchoolsstrategic direction the Professor playsa major rolein academic leadership and governance across SchoolCollegeand University committees and may also lead a discipline area or strategic learning and teaching portfolio.
To be successful in this positionyoullhave:
PhD ordemonstratedequivalence in management or a relevant business-related discipline
Previousleadership experience in learning and teaching withinUniversityenvironments
Thorough understanding of academic governance andexpertisein the Australian higher education sector
Demonstrated experience across interdisciplinary schools from undergraduate to doctorate levelshowcasingability tooperateat scale
Proventrack recordof collaboration with international partners and campuses
Recognitionas an eminent educator at both national and international levels
