Summary
Great Southern Wood Preserving Inc. makers of Yellawood brand Pressure Treated Pine is seeking a Plant Manager. This individual will be responsible for directing production and distribution operations for the branch plant including managing production personnel production performance and production costs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and a full benefits package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Coordinates receiving warehousing production distribution and shipping of product in accordance with policies principles and procedures established by the Regional Operations Manager.
Develops plans for efficient use of materials machines and employees.
Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of facility.
Ensures employee safety and compliance with governing regulatory agencies including OSHA and EPA.
Oversees overall maintenance and housekeeping of plant facilities and equipment.
Maintains positive employee relations and compliance with employment policies and regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Manages subordinate shift supervisors who supervise hourly production employees. Is responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning scheduling and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.S.) preferred with 5 years related supervisory/management experience and/or training in the wood treating or lumber industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and interpret industry-specific numerical data.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully an individual should become proficient in use of company database system with production reporting and data entry requirements and Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook software applications.
Certificates Licenses Registrations:
Forklift certification and experience a definite plus.
