Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in Denbighshire to assist with the appointment of a Employment & Skills Mentor on a 13-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 129.28 - 170.00 per day

Summary:

Denbighshire County Council is seeking a motivated and engaging Employment & Skills Mentor to deliver high-impact employability support within the Housing sector. This role focuses on providing one-to-one support to individuals aged 16 and over helping them overcome complex barriers to move into sustainable employment. The successful candidate will be empathetic proactive and innovative using Collaborative Conversation and coaching techniques to empower participants and create lasting change.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of participants overseeing their recruitment retention and professional development through individual coaching and personal support.
  • Develop comprehensive strengths-based plans and carry out regular assessments and reviews of participant progress.
  • Provide direction and advice to Employment & Skills Case Workers to ensure workloads are manageable and participant action plans are implemented correctly.
  • Identify and manage operational and participant-specific risks completing risk assessments and management plans as required by local protocols.
  • Collect evidence to demonstrate outcome achievements maintain accurate filing for data confidentiality and produce case studies to highlight programme impact.

      Essentials:

      • Proven experience in using coaching and individual support techniques to facilitate participant development.
      • Proficiency in risk management including the ability to complete risk assessments and follow safe systems of work
      • Prior experience in managing a caseload including the recruitment and retention of participants in a support programme.
