Logan Health Whitefish is looking for an Oral Health Educator to be part of their team!
This position will provide on-site oral health education to both patients and healthcare staff fostering a preventive and proactive approach to oral health within the hospital environment.
Grant Funded Position: Positions funded bygrants are typically of limited duration and are subject to immediate termination if thegrantfunding addition at Logan Healths discretion employment may be terminated prior to the completion of the terms of thegrant.
Qualifications:
Active license to practice dental hygiene in the State of Montana required.
Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience communicating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams preferred.
Experience supporting grant funded projects preferred.
Promotes excellence through setting high standards and providing high quality outcomes.
Ability to act with integrity kindness and exhibit empathy.
Excellent organizational skills detail-oriented a self-starter possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact professionalism and diplomacy.
Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
Provides healthcare staff with education on the importance of oral hygiene.
Provides personalized oral health education to patients.
Provides education to healthcare staff tailored to the unique oral health needs of hospital departments and patient populations.
Develops and/or j oral health education resources for various patient populations.
Develops and/or identifies culturally tailored oral health education and training resources for healthcare staff.
Conducts patient surveys to assess the quality of the education provided and the perceived benefit of the information received. Collects data on prior oral health care utilization barriers to care and dental insurance status.
Conducts healthcare staff surveys to measure improvements in their oral health knowledge understanding of importance of oral hygiene for hospitalized patients and confidence in addressing patient oral hygiene needs.
Provides program updates and submit data to the Montana Health Research and Education Foundation.
Supports the Montana Health Research and Education Foundation with associated grant reporting.
Identifies and purchases necessary oral hygiene supplies.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
