St. Michaels House provides a comprehensive range of services and supports to men women and children with disabilities and their families in 170 locations in the greater Dublin area. We support 1936 individuals positively impacting thousands of family members. St. Michaels House is funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE) TUSLA and the Department of Education and Skills.

About the Roles:
We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager position in Service Area 1 reporting to the Director of Adult Services Service Area 1:

1 Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

1 year contract

This position is in service area 1 which has residential houses Individualised Service and Day services supporting adults with disabilities. All homes have a person in charge and staff teams include social care workers Staff Nurses and direct support workers. This is a key management opportunity for experienced professionals committed to delivering safe person-centred and human rights-based supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The successful candidates will work alongside human resources the finance department the quality and safety team and a strong multidisciplinary team and contribute to strategic service development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead support and motivate frontline teams to deliver safe high-quality and person-centred support to adults with disabilities fostering a respectful and inclusive team.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operations including oversight of rosters staffing and resource allocation to ensure smooth and consistent service delivery that meets all the individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records ensuring documentation meets regulatory legal and organisational standards across all areas of care and operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures promoting a culture of safety respect and vigilance to protect the rights and wellbeing of all individuals.
  • Support compliance with HIQA standards / New Directions and all relevant legislation and policies promoting a shared understanding of quality and regulatory expectations across the team.
  • Promote Assisted Decision-Making and person-centred planning encouraging everyones voice and choice in their daily lives and long-term goals.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with families advocates and multidisciplinary teams working collaboratively to support the best possible outcomes for those accessing the service.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills providing clear guidance promoting a team culture based on trust accountability and support.
  • Manage financial and service resources responsibly maintaining accurate records and aligning with best practice and regulatory requirements with support from the finance department.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and service improvements supporting innovation and positive change that enhances the quality of care and support provided.
  • Support staff development through supervision mentoring and learning opportunities creating a positive environment in which staff feel valued supported and encouraged to develop professionally.
  • Identify and respond to risk across all aspects of service delivery including safeguarding and health and safety to ensure a secure and supportive environment for individuals and staff.
  • Monitor and review service quality regularly using feedback audits and performance data to guide continuous improvement and inform decision-making.

Applicants should demonstrate a strong background and experience in disability services and experience managing regulated health or social care services.

Essential Criteria:

  • A recognised Level 8 qualification in nursing social care or another relevant health/social care discipline
  • At least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience including 3 years in a supervisory or management role within disability services.
  • A management qualification is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulated environments and implementation of HIQA standards
  • Proven experience in staff development and team management
  • Full clean driving licence
  • CORU (e.g. Social Care Workers Register) or
  • Registration with NMBI (Intellectual Disability Division)

Salary Scale:

  • Full-Time Post: Social Care Manager grade or CNM3
