Job Summary
Due to a continued growth in businesswe have an exciting and career defining opportunity for a Level 2 NDT Technician to join the teamin Western Approach. This site is an International Centre of Excellence in composite wing structure design and production manufacturing composite wing spars and Fixed Trailing Edge assemblies for some of the worlds most popular aircrafts.
The successful applicant will inspect and evaluate the A350XWB and A400M carbon wing spars and their associated components throughout the manufacturing process.
These inspections will utilize semi-automated and manual phased array and conventional pulse echo ultrasonic testing techniques.
You will work a 7 day fortnight shift pattern 06:00am - 18:00pm as below - which includes 28% shift allowance:
Week 1: Monday Tuesday Friday Satuday Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday Thursday
How Youll Contribute
In this position you will carry out Semi-Automated Manual Phased Array and Manual Pulse Echo Ultrasonic Inspection of carbon fibre composite wing spars and associated components.
In addition to:
- Compliance with all Health & Safety requirements
- Maintenance of aerospace quality standards
- Provide support as required to the NDT Level 3
- Communicate with customers and suppliers as required
- Provide reports on Non-Destructive Testing matters
What Youll Bring
To help us make a difference youll bring your passion expertise and enthusiasm for what you do along with the following skills experience qualifications and attributes:
- Have documented evidence of classroom training and work experience hours sufficient to gainEN4179 Level 2 qualification in the Ultrasonic Inspection of carbon fibre composites
- Ability to read engineering drawings and be mathematically proficient in the utilisation and transposition of various formulae
In addition to:
- Understanding of composite manufacture gained in the Aerospace industry
- Understanding and adherence to aerospace quality standards
- A Team player with the ability to work alone in the continuous improvement of NDT processes and documentation
- Willing to work at customer sites as required
