Job Description Summary
Title: Expert Medical Information Manager
Location: Dublin (Hybrid) or London (Homeworker)
Working in partnership with the Group Lead MI and Associate Director MI this role is responsible for leading the delivery of Medical Information (MI) activities.
The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:
Leading MI services for assigned disease area. This covers both planned and reactive services and includes quality management and compliance with industry standards and codes of practice
Managing stakeholders relationship (e.g. Medical Affairs Directors) and supporting planning of MI activities for assigned therapy areas (TAs)
Forecasting of medical information activities for assigned TAs and ensuring accurate scoping and tiering across MI deliverables.
Delivering highly complex MI services and responses to escalated enquiries
Acting as the delivery lead for MI congress activities
In partnership with the Group Lead MI ensuring quality accuracy and integrity of assigned projects
Mentoring and coaching Senior MI Managers and MI Managers
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management of both planned and reactive services in a timely efficient and high quality manner for their assigned clients or defined disease area groupings.
- Lead delivery of MI services including congress activities (onsite remote)
- Provide TA expertise in an assigned franchises/TA or group of aligned TAs (multiple clients) and conduct quality reviews of MI deliverables
- Report to clients on both planned and reactive MI services
- Support the management of any potential escalations from external HCPs
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and pharmacovigilance requirements
- Ensure compliance with internal and external MI standards and codes of practice including GxP guidelines
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum: Healthcare professional degree or degree in a healthcare-related fieldDesirable: Advanced degree (PhD PharmD MD) in life science/healthcare
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Medical Information/Communications role specifically in the Pharmaceutical Industry (or a related Medical Affairs role with significant MI responsibility in the Pharmaceutical Industry)
- Experience with delivering MI services at Global and local level
- Product and disease area knowledge in Novartis therapeutic areas
- Strong knowledge of good practices in medical information writing and experience with mentoring others
- Strong client focus
- Strong cross-functional skills and proven experience in collaboration with other departments/groups
