Job Title: Nurse Manager

JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Manager functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer and assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department. The Nurse Manager in collaboration with the CNO and leadership team assists to implement interpret and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory and accreditation standards. The Nurse Manager supervises the Clinical Supervisors Charge Nurses RNs LPN/LVNs CNAs/NAs and Unit Secretaries. The Nurse Manager is responsible for implementing hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters. The Nurse Manager reinforces the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited Bachelors of Science in Nursing Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. BSN Preferred.
Current unrestricted state licensure as Registered Nurse.
CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.
CRRN Certification preferred
Minimum of two years of previous nursing leadership preferred.
Minimum of two years previous rehab nursing experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Consistently follows departmental and hospital Health Safety Security Hazardous Materials policies and procedures.
HIPAA: Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with HIPAA privacy laws follow hospital policy in provision of patient confidentiality. Able to identify patient confidentiality issues and reports to proper hospital personnel immediately.
Compliance: Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with standards set forth in Kindreds Code of Conduct Kindred policy and procedures applicable federal and state laws and applicable standards.
Language Skills:
Able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge.
Knowledge of equipment utilized in evaluation and treatment.
Must be able to determine appropriate patient procedures and evaluate results.
Ability to maintain control and respond calmly and positively during crisis situations.
Appropriate telephone communication skills.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
Good general health and stress coping ability. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time. Stooping sitting bending and carrying of items including the ability to lift or move patients. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with all constituents (patients families peers and other healthcare team members) as needed for leadership assessment intervention and professional development.
