Hours: Monday Friday 5:30 AM 2:00 PM (Primary Schedule)
Alternate Schedule (per unit need): Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Call Requirements: On call once per week and one weekend per month
Pay Rate: $55-$60/hr

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join a busy Post-Anesthesia Care Unit supporting the Operating Room. This role requires strong critical care skills the ability to manage post-surgical recovery patients and experience working in a fast-paced PACU environment.

Candidates must be dependable reliable and comfortable strictly working within the OR/PACU setting. Cerner experience is required.

Responsibilities

Provide post-anesthesia care and continuous monitoring of patients recovering from surgical procedures

Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 (maximum 1:6 based on acuity)

Monitor airway status hemodynamics and level of consciousness

Administer medications for pain control nausea and post-operative stabilization

Recognize and respond to post-operative complications

Collaborate closely with surgeons anesthesiologists and OR staff

Document patient care accurately in Cerner EHR

Prepare patients for discharge or transfer to inpatient units

Participate in weekly call rotation and weekend call coverage

Requirements

Minimum 3 years PACU or critical care experience (5 years preferred)

Active RN License (State-specific or Compact as applicable)

BLS (Basic Life Support) Required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Required

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) Required

Cerner EHR experience required

Experience working in a busy high-volume PACU

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

Dependable reliable and able to work independently in a fast-paced surgical setting
